Job Title: Account Officer
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Description
- The Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining compliance with statutory regulations, and supporting management with financial analysis and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and general ledger
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and process payroll, including statutory deductions
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, WHT, Company Income Tax, etc.)
- Prepare and file statutory returns
- Monitor budgets and control costs
- Support internal and external audits
- Conduct audit preparations and ensure audit readiness
- Liaise with auditors and implement audit recommendations
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls
- Provide financial advice and analysis to management
Qualifications & Requirements
- B.S.c Degree / HND in Accounting
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
- Must be ICAN certified
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Good understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance
- Strong knowledge of auditing processes and practices
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Ability to meet deadlines.
