Job Title: Credit Officer

Job Summary
- The Credit Officer is responsible for assessing, approving, and monitoring credit facilities to customers while minimizing financial risk to the organization.
- The role involves evaluating creditworthiness, managing receivables, ensuring timely loan recovery, and supporting sales growth through sound credit decisions. Experience in the automobile industry will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer credit applications and conduct credit risk assessments.
- Analyze financial statements, credit history, and repayment capacity of customers.
- Recommend approval, modification, or rejection of credit requests in line with company policies.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and ensure timely payment collection.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and implement recovery strategies.
- Maintain accurate customer credit records and documentation.
- Collaborate with sales and finance teams to structure suitable credit terms.
- Conduct periodic credit reviews and reassess customer credit limits.
- Prepare credit reports, aging analysis, and portfolio performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support vehicle financing, dealership credit arrangements, and asset-based lending processes.
- Identify potential credit risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Credit Officer or similar role.
- Experience in automobile, vehicle financing, leasing, or dealership operations is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment and debt recovery processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
- Good understanding of receivables management and credit control practices.
